PURPOSE:To obtain an object signal in a short time by outputting externally only a charge of the photoelectric conversion pixel to be measured at a signal extracting device and supplying the other to ground. CONSTITUTION:A signal charge is sequentially read from the transfer section 3 of a CCD image sensor 1, the charge in a read skipping area set by a read skipping area setting device 9 is not converted by an A/D converter 6 and is made to flow to ground without being outputted externally. Then the charge in the other area, that is, the charge to be measured is converted by the A/D converter 6 and the result is outputted externally as a digital signal. Thus, even when all charges are sequentially read from a storage section of the transfer section 3, since only the object charge is converted and the other signal charge is not converted, the output time of the digital charge signal for the A/D converter 6 is shortened and the object digital charge signal is obtained in a short time. |
