PURPOSE:To prevent the black line printing from encroaching other printing areas with the adjacent bar code type by printing in the desired unit bar code through combination of bar code element types provided on the circumference of the printing drum. CONSTITUTION:When the printing information for each row is inputted into a data processing circuit 21 from an external equipment, the circuit 21 determines which bar code element type 11 is to be printed for each row while always recognizes the rotating position of the printing drum based on the input signal from the sensor 22. Then, immediately before each type to be printed reaches the respective printing position for each row, respective hammer drive circuits 201-20m are separately controlled by the circuit 21 to excite the corresponding magnets 191-19m. The magnets 191-19m thus excited work on the respectively printing hammers 181- 18m so that the hammers 181-18m strike the types in each row corresponding to the drum 15 sandwitching the receiving medium and the carbon ribon 17. |
