PURPOSE:To obtain a memory device capable of shortening necessary time by erasing and writing data simultaneously at the time of rewriting a memory. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a comparator means 5 comparating the data stored in the memory and input data to be written and a control circuit 6 deciding whether the data of the memory is rewrited or erased by the result output of the comparator means 5 and controlling the write or the erasure of the data of the memory at a write step.
