PURPOSE:To provide information corresponding to a diversity of forms that a user and the device require with a small number of functional modules by performing conversion to a final target information form through a semantic layer. CONSTITUTION:A collating means 103 reads information on an image, a speech, characters, etc., transferred by an input means 101 and collates it with a pattern which is already set in a table, and outputs a code corresponding to the pattern when the extent of its similarity exceeds a previously set threshold value. A retrieving means 105 reads the code outputted by the collating means 103 and outputs semantic information corresponding to the code which is already set in a table. An output means 107 reads the semantic information outputted by the retrieving means 105 and outputs it. Thus, the image, speech, characters, etc., are converted temporarily into the semantic information and then converted into the final target information to enable conversion between media with a small number of functional modules. |
