<p>3-methoxyxanthones having analeptic props.. B3A. Are new cmpds. of formula (wherein R is NEt2, NMe2, piperidino or morpholine), including salts thereof and are used in the treatment of respiratory depression. The cpds. are prepd. by refluxing an acetone soln. of a 3-hydroxy-4-aminomethyl-N-R-methylxanthone with excess Me2SO4 in presence of K2CO3, filtering, evapng., treating the residue with dil. aq. NaOH and recovering a cryst. product.</p> |
