The fixing comprises an intermediate element, one end (10) of which is designed to receive a frame side-piece, while the other attaches to the lens surround. The end (12) attaching to the frame has a flat contact surface which fits against a similar surface on the outside (20) of the surround, and the two components are fixed together by a screw (3) passing through a hole (24) in the surround and screwing into a threaded hole (16) in the flat contact surface. The axes of the two holes do not lie perpendicular to the plane of the flat contact surfaces.The flat contact surface of the intermediate element has projections which engage with recesses in the surround when the components are assembled. ADVANTAGE - Simpler assembly, using only one screw and reducing manufacturing costs.
