<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the stress of an intermediate transfer belt and to restrain shaving or crack of its end so as to prolong the life of the intermediate transfer belt by providing a meandering preventing belt which comes in contact with both of the reinforced part and the non-reinforced part of the intermediate transfer belt. CONSTITUTION:A reinforcing tape 14 is stuck over the entire length on both sides of the intermediate transfer belt 2, which is provided with the meandering preventing belt 17 for preventing the meandering of the belt 2 by engaging in the step part 15 of supporting rollers 11d-11f on which the belt 2 is stretched and laid. The belt 17 is attached so as to span both of the reinforced part of the belt 2 which is reinforced with the tape 14 and the non-reinforced part 2a which is outside the tape 14 and attached within a range where it does not invade the use area of the belt 2. By thus providing the belt 17, the stress is absorbed by the belt 17 which is attached to span both of the reinforced part and the non-reinforced part, and prevented from being concentrated on a boundary line 14a between the reinforced part which is reinforced by the tape 14 and the non-reinforced part 2a.</p> |
