STRIPPER FOR ROUND MULTICORE CABLE

PURPOSE:To make it possible to strip a round multicore cable without damaging a film tape or an inner sheath by rotating an outer sheath pull-up shoe and stripping the cable while pulling up the outer sheath of cable by means of a cutter secured to the shoe. CONSTITUTION:At a start of stripping point, a cable 1 is pushed from the opposite end faces thereof to be deformed into an elliptical shape by means of a collapse clamper 17 and an outer sheath pull up shoe 21 is bitten thereat with the bottom face thereof being floated above the surface of the outer sheath. The outer sheath pull-up shoe 21 is then rotated and advanced from the end face of the cable 1 thus stripping while pulling up the outer sheath of cable spirally by means of a cutter chip 22 secured to the shoe 21. Since the outer sheath is normally composed of synthetic resin coating, only the outer sheath can be pulled up onto the shoe 21. This constitution makes it possible to strip the outer sheath without damaging a film tape or an inner sheath applied tightly beneath the outer sheath.
