PURPOSE:To prevent the performance of a bearing from being deteriorated or the bearing from being broken by mounting a hollow protective member protruding from a shaft end on a shaft end side where no rotary polygon mirror of a driving motor is fixed. CONSTITUTION:A protective member 6 is mounted on the shaft end side in the direction opposite to the side where the rotary polygon mirror 3 of the driving motor 2 is mounted with an adhesive, etc. In such a case, the protective member 6 is mounted protruding from the shaft end face of the rotary shaft 8 of the driving motor 2, and also, the end part of the rotary shaft 8 is formed to hollow so as to be operated from the lower side. The protective member 6 is mounted on the outer ring or housing 10 of the ball bearing 9 of the driving motor 2 with a method of adhesion, etc. By employing such constitution, it is possible to prevent the performance of the bearing from being deteriorated or the bearing from being broken without damaging the ball bearing 9 of the driving motor 2 even if a matter hits against the lower part of an optical box 101 since it is not protruded from the shaft end of the rotary shaft 8 of the driving motor 2. |
