PURPOSE:To improve mass production capability and to attain a low cost in an optical pickup head device capable of recording, reproducing, and erasing optical information. CONSTITUTION:A beam 70 from a semiconductor laser beam source 11 is reflected on reflecting parts 17, 18 and a reflection type hologram element 14, and is converged on an optical storage medium 20 by an objective lens 19. The beam 70 reflected on the optical storage medium 20 is made incident on the reflection type hologram element 14, and is changed to diffracted light 71, 72, and they are received by a photodetector 15, which detects focusing and tracking error signals. The photodetector 15 and the reflection type hologram element 14 are formed on a semiconductor substrate 13, and the semiconductor laser beam source 11 is packaged on the semiconductor substrate 13. |
