PURPOSE:To secure an image formation stable for a long period by preventing the decrease of transfer efficiency caused by the production of a filming layer and the catching of a cleaning member. CONSTITUTION:This image forming device is provided with a pressurizing force adjusting means making the cleaning member 22-2 to be in press-contact with a carrier 19 to change the pressurizing force, plural detecting means 36 arrayed in a straight line in an upward direction perpendicular to the moving direction of the carrier 19 detecting the state of the presence of toner remaining on the carrier 19, a judging means judging whether all detecting means 36 simultaneously detect the same state as a normal state or not, to judge whether the line of the toner remaining on the carrier 19 when the cleaning member 22-2 is released from the carrier 19, is in the normal state where the line is straight or not, and a control means controlling the operation of the pressurizing force adjusting means and/or a rubbing member 35, based on the output signal of the judging means. |
