PURPOSE:To provide a lithium secondary battery of a large battery capacity by using a compound of which a part of carbon atoms forming a graphite skeleton are substituted by boron atoms and nitrogen atoms for a negative electrode. CONSTITUTION:In a lithium secondary battery BA1 comprising a positive electrode 1, a negative electrode 2, a separator 3, a positive electrode lead 4, a negative electrode lead 5, etc., a compound of which a part of carbon atoms forming skeleton of graphite crystals are substituted by boron atoms and nitrogen atoms is used for the negative electrode 2 as a substance capable of storing and discharging lithium. By thus using the compound having a larger capacity than that of material such as cokes comprising carbon atoms only for the negative electrode material, a lithium secondary battery of a large battery capacity can be obtained. For the compound, that expressed by a formula of BC3N is preferable. |
