Electronic test appts. for computer printers - uses time base and binary counter to generate succession of test signals stored in memory

The appts. comprises a binary counter (1) driven by a time base (6) supplying signals to the printer bus through a logic gate (2). A read only memory (3) contains a predetermined sequence of test data for transmission to the printer. The printer response to the test data allows diagnosis of faults. LED indicators may be connected in some interface lines to indicate printer status. ADVANTAGE - Simplifies testing and repair of faults in printers and similar equipment.
