X-ray image amplifier (1) comprises a housing (3-5), an inlet screen (6), an outlet screen (12), electrodes (8-10) for electron optics and an anode (13). The housing in the region of the anode (10) is made completely of metal. The housing part (5) has an insulating layer (14) on its inner surface and the electrode (10) near to the anode is applied on the layer (14). The metal anode (13) is secured to the housing part (5) in the region of the insulating layer (14). The electrode (10) is pref. connected on one side to the housing (3-5) and on the other side to the anode (13) via conducting layers (16). the anode (13) is pref. secured to the housing part (5) by a solder connection (19), esp. a soldered adapter ring (18). The insulating layer (14) is made of enamel. The conducting layers (16) are made of a semiconductor material, or a resistance material, e.g. Cr2O3. ADVANTAGE - The amplifier converts and amplifier X-ray images into a visible picture or an electrical signal representing the X-ray beam image.
