The locking device is for a door on a vehicle. There is an outer assembly (4) with a handle (10) and a lock with a keyhole (11). A shaft (12) connects the lock with a control assembly (3). The end (29) of the shaft enters a bore (30) in the centre of the control assembly. The control assembly (3) contains two stop surfaces on force transmitting discs (13) which engage a lug (13) on an outer ring (14). A lever (19) attached to this ring engages a slot (20) in the end of a further lever (9). USE/ADVANTAGE - Locking device for door of vehicle accommodates large mfr. tolerances.
