The belt, by means of guides working in conjunction with at least one resetting element, is formed into one or more deflections proportional to the tension as it is stretched. The belt is supported between at least one guide fixed in a housing and lying on a flat surface of the latter and a guide spring and yieldingly mounted on the housing and lying on the opposite flat surface. The housing (1) is an integral profiled piece in the form of a main body of I-shaped cross-section which can be opened at the top or outwards. Two bolts (2, 3), serving as guides, are installed at both sides (4, 5) of the housing transversely to the length axis. A yieldingly supported guide element (11) is provided in the housing in the region between the bolts. USE/ADVANTAGE - Can be fixed to tensioning element such as a ratchet and indicates tension state of clamping device in every position at high accuracy within limits of permitted tolerances.
