PURPOSE:To provide sure ignition of fuel mixture, by synchronizing high-frequency ac current generated in a DC-HF.AC inverter to proper ignition time of an engine for conducting the primary winding of an ignition coil. CONSTITUTION:Commutation of a thyristor 24 is on/off controlled, being intermittently synchronized to a contact point 33. High-tension, high-frequency ac current of a DC-HF.AC inverter is applied to primary winding 26, a bridge circuit being kept conducting in two directions, from a terminal a to the other b an vice versa, in accordance with high-frequency ac current flowing in a commutating element bridge of a controlled circuit while the thyristor 24 is on, so as to induce, in secondary winding 27, high-tension, high-frequency ac current proportional to the turn ratio. Thus continous discharge of high energy, which produces an arc piller with a large arc cross section in a clearance of an ignition plug 28, lasts for the full length of ignition time. |
