摘要 The single glass tube structure, formed by multiple folds, has at least four sections parallel to each other and linked together by U-shaped connecting stretches, so that the open ends are adjacent. The inner dia. and wall thickness of the glass tube are generally constant throughout the whole glass structure. Pref. the folded glass tube sections are at a gap of 1.6-3.0mm from each other, and pref. 2.0mm. The glass tube has an inner dia. of 5-15mm and esp. 12mm, with a wall thickness of 1-2mm. In the initial phase of mfr. two parallel standing glass tubes are heated simultaneously at their lower and facing tube ends to be joined mechanically at their facing sides and, at the same time, they are sepd. at their inner sides below the joint along a stretch generally matching the glass tube dia.. The cut edges of both glass tubes are forced apart by firing from below and the joint of both tube ends is welded.
