The unit comprises a portable assembly (1) with a pressurised air intake (2), a noise reducer and a diffuser. The assembly comprises two intercommuniating hollow housings, the first (3) with the air intake, and the second (4) with the diffuser. The air reducer inside the first housing, comprises a cylindrical low-pressure chamber (5), connected to the air intake by a tube (6) and delimited by a sleeve (7) which has one end communicating with the second housing. The sleeve is covered by a sound insulating material, e.g. of polyurethane foam and a mineral fibre. The air diffuser is formed by a perforated end section (10) of the second housing's wall, contg. a supple foam material, e.g. of polyurethane. The first housing has a layer of felt (21), a layer of fibre glass (22) and a neoprene seal (23) between the end of the sleeve and the housing base. ADVANTAGE - Provides breathable air for person working inside enclosed space.
