Producing crystals with controlled granulometric properties

Plant process for the prodn. of crystals in which a satd. / unsatd. soln. is circulated in a divided cylindrical chamber contg. a mechanical shear system consisting of a wheel, with protruding teeth, mounted on a rotating arm. The shear forces at the surface of the wheel are varied to obtain the required granulometric properties. A pref. example is the prodn. of sodium carbonate monohydrate from anhydrous sodium carbonate.
