PURPOSE:To provide luminescence having uniform and high intensity all over the luminescence face with good reproducibility by using an ion plating film made of metals containing Mg as the main constituent as a cathode. CONSTITUTION:The glass plate of a transparent insulating substrate 1 is coated with ITO as an anode 2. N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-bis(3-methyl phenyl)-1,1'- bipheney-4,4'-diamine is deposited as a positive hole injection transporting layer 3. Tris(8-quinolinol)aluminum is deposited as an organic electron transporting luminescence layer 4, and an ion plating film of Mg is formed on it as a cathode 7. GeO is finally deposited as a sealing layer 8. The work function of the cathode 7 is lower than that of a conventional Mg-Ag alloy, it is illuminated in the yellow green color when DC voltage is applied, and uniform and high- intensity luminescence can be obtained all over the luminescence face. |
