PURPOSE:To output a desired modified character while selecting an optimal character modification for each input character by managing the output reference position information of the plural character modification for each character. CONSTITUTION:A character modification selecting means 6 selects a character modification processing indicated by a character processing means 2 through a keyboard 1, and registers the selected character modification classification information in a system RAM 3. A line and character base line information capturing means 7 captures the base line information of a line obtained by the character processing means 2, and the base line information of a character from the font cell information of each character being the constituting elements of the line, and sets it at the system RAM 3. At the time of outputting document information in the system RAM 3 to a display 5 by an outputting means 4, an underscore outputting means 8 adds an underscore based on underscore modification information in the document information in the system RAM 3. |
