<p>PURPOSE:To enable a vehicle information recognizing device which recognizes the information related to the running of its own vehicle based on a target ahead of its own vehicle to accurately recognize various kinds of information, such as environmental information of a road, etc., from the target by utilizing various kinds of radar equipment, including scanning radar equipment using laser light. CONSTITUTION:The title device is equipped with scanning laser radar equipment 2 which detects an object on or beside a driveway ahead of its own vehicle. In addition, the device is also equipped with a control unit 5 which discriminates the target whether it is on or beside the driveway based on signals from the equipment 2, vehicle speed sensor 6, steering angle sensor 7, etc., and, when the unit 5 discriminates that the target is beside the driveway, discriminates the environmental information of the road from the target in accordance with signals from the equipment 2.</p> |
