PURPOSE:To provide the optical writing device using the scan motor of an image forming device of simple constitution which generates no calculation error, has a short processing time, and can perform high power variation. CONSTITUTION:The power is varied in a subscanning direction by varying the rotating speed of the scan motor 153 as a scanning means corresponding to the power variation rate (enlargement or reduction) of a recorded image. For the purpose, a programmable frequency dividing circuit 151 generates and varies a scan motor clock. Further, the pixel frequency of laser light is varied by a pixel clock generating circuit 158 to vary the power in a main scanning direction. Further, an LD control circuit 157 is controlled with the output of an output intensity control circuit 159 to correct the output intensity of a laser beam. |
