PURPOSE:To obtain an instrument for measuring neutron dose equivalent which can measure a wide range of neutrons from them neutrons to fast neutrons with high sensitivity and has a portable size and weight. CONSTITUTION:A first and second semiconductor detecting sections and 22 are put upon another and brought into contact with an object 11 to be inspected. The section 22 only detects thermal neutrons made incident to the object 11. Intermediate to fast neutrons are changed to thermal neutrons by the object 11 and back-scattered thermal neutrons are detected by means of the section 14. A Cd filter which blocks the thermal neutrons is provided between the sections 14 and 22.
