Control (22) switches the motor (16) to set the end positions of the lower nipper frame (6) moving it round the axis (A) to the new end position setting. In operation, the axis () is periodically shifted in a cycle with the reciprocating movement of the lower nipper frame (6) so that the actual position of the axis (A) is always a given function of the actual position of the lower nipper frame (6). Setting command signals are from a unit (23), according to the setting of the circular comb shaft (1) or a nipper assembly drive shaft (4). USE/ADVANTAGE - Combing machine gives a fine setting and accurate control of the opening and closing movements of the nipper assembly, to give a variety of actions without constant resetting, or for adjustment while in operation.
