PURPOSE:To attain excellent reception recording from a print-out by activating an ink jet printer when the reception standby state is consecutive for a prescribed time and recording a maintenance print pattern on recording paper. CONSTITUTION:When it is discriminated that a prescribed reception standby time elapses from the reset time with a timer means of a clock circuit 17, a CPU 12 activates a printer control circuit 32 to allow an ink jet printer 31 to record a maintenance print pattern onto the recording paper. When the reception standby state is consecutive for a long time and the ink jet printer 31 is not used in this way, the maintenance print pattern is recorded on the recording paper for each lapse of a prescribed time to prevent drying of ink in the nozzle or the like thereby suppressing a defective print and obtaining a reception recording with an excellent print-out. |
