An ultra-thin low moisture content polyester film is provided of thickness less than 3 mu m and with a weakly bound water content less than 0.06 weight %, based on the weight of polyester; also described are applications of this film in a treatment method during which outgassing takes place, notably a metallization process, and metallized films and multi-layer capacitors obtained starting from said film.
