<p>PURPOSE:To accurately inspect a plant in the wide range by scanning the interior of the plant by means of a gas sensor and an infrared camera, and confirming the presence of an abnormal heat generating body through processing of infrared images when tire output of the gas sensor exceeds a reference value. CONSTITUTION:A gas sensor 7 is mounted above a turning device 2, which shows weak directivity to a generating source of odor and some degree of sensitivity even when the sensitivity center thereof is not directed to the generating source of odor. The gas sensor 7 is used as a direction setting means. At the same time, an infrared camera 8 is set, to the device 2 so that the visual field thereof holds a predetermined relationship to the sensitivity center of the sensor 7. The infrared camera 8 catches infrared rays emitted from the surface of an article as a two-dimensional image, thereby to detect the temperature distribution on the surface of the article. The device 2 is driven by a command from a control means 10, and the sensor 7 and the camera 8 are turned to scan the interior of the plant. When the sensor 7 generates an output exceeding a reference value, the turn of the sensor 7 is stopped and the camera 8 is activated. An image processing means 9 processes the images. If an abnormality is confirmed, a warning is generated.</p> |
