A method of preventing a theft of a motor vehicle, consisting of the following described steps. Firstly, place a micro-processor in a power supply line of a motor vehicle leading from a primary power source on the motor vehicle to at least two vehicular components which require electrical energy from the primary power source in order to function. One of the vehicular components is designated as a triggering component and the other is designated as a disabling component. Secondly, program the micro-processor to accept a signal to differentiate between armed and disarmed operating modes. Thirdly, program the micro-processor such that upon the triggering component drawing electrical energy from the power source in the armed mode, the micro-processor deprives the disabling component of electrical energy thereby disabling the motor vehicle.
