A hinge comprises two lateral wing members adapted to pivot one about the other around an axle. One of the wing members includes a first one-plate flat plate having a flange extending sideways along about the lower half of the height of the first plate, the flange being bent to form a completely closed first sleeve to tightly receive a cylindrical pintle. The pintle has a portion extending above the first sleeve at a height below the height of the first plate. The second wing member includes a second one-piece plate having a flange extending sideways along the upper half of the height of the second plate. The flange of the second plate is bent to form a completely surrounded second sleeve. The flange of the first and the second plates extends towards each other and are superposed one over the other in axial relationship. The second sleeve has a diameter adapted to slidingly fit over the portion extending above the first sleeve. A flat brass ring is mounted around the pintle and is loosely disposed relative to the pintle and the first and second plates. The ring has a thickness adapted to maintain both lateral wing members at the same level when both are mounted on the axle.
