<p>A first and second conduit (10, 110) are connected together by a screw thread attachment (102). A gasket (130) hermetically seals the first and second conduit together. The first conduit has a seal member (40) which is shaped to engage a sealing surface (22) of the first conduit. Spring washers (60) force the seal member (40) against the sealing surface (22). The seal member (40) has an extension (44) which engages the gasket (130) such that when the conduits are screwed together, the seal member (40) is lifted off of the sealing surface (22). <IMAGE></p>
