Electrically conducting rare earth chromi- - te ceramics

Electrically conducting ceramics for use as electrodes in magnetohydrodynamic energy converters, or as heating elements in high temperature furnaces operated in oxidising atmospheres, are prepared by sintering two rare earth oxides or hydroxides with chromium oxide or hydroxide. Yttrium oxide may be used instead of a rare earth oxide.
