The stepping-up or reduction ratio of the gears fitted respectively on the generator shaft and the crankshaft lies in the range of i = 1.1 to i = 1.5. The lubrication of the gears results from engine oil transferred from the driving engine (27). The ratio of the gears (3, 5) is selected according to the specified range so that an optimum improvement of asymmetry of the generator can be obtained for synchronising its operation parallel to the electric mains. ADVANTAGE - Working life of generator is greater or same as driving engine. Within working life of generator no damage can result at its gear side bearing.
