<p>A suture ring (30) is provided for supporting a heart valve prosthesis (20) having a valve body (22) with an outer circumferential surface (24) and an annular groove (26) formed therein including a stiffening ring (32), mounted about the valve body annular groove (26) the stiffening ring including a tapered outer surface section (66); a resilient ring (44) positioned about the outer surface proximate the first end of the stiffening ring; a fabric tube (34), covering both and interposed between the stiffening ring and the resilient ring; a first fastener band (36) frictionally engaging the tube between the first band and the outer surface proximate the first end (56) of the stiffening ring; a second fastener band (38) frictionally engaging the tube between the outer surface proximate the second end (62) of the stiffening ring; first attachment means (42) and second attachment means for attaching the fabric tube.</p> |
