<p>A process for the production of olefins comprises passing a feed containing an oxygenate of the general formula (I): R-O-R1, where R is an alkyl of 4 or 5 carbon atoms and R1 is H or alkyl optionally substituted with an ether group, over a zeolite catalyst whose framework structure includes a 10- or 12- member channel not intersected by another 10- or 12- member channel, with the proviso that where R1 is H, the zeolite has a framework which includes a 10- member channel not intersected by another 10- or 12- member channel.</p> |
