摘要 1,175,103. Sheet stackins; aeration. G. RUUD. 1 June, 1967 [11 June, 1966], No. 25320/67. Heading B8R. Sheets supported on edge on a horizontal base are mechanically aerated to prevent them from sticking together by causing a lifting member to reciprocate across the base thus raising the sheets in turn relative to each other and the base on passage of the member. Fig. 1, illustrates apparatus in which sheets 11 from a printing machine are piled horizontally on a platform 15 carried on an end plate 12 of the apparatus, and then retained by a movable end piece 13, (in dotted lines in Fig. 1). The entire frame 1, comprising the end plates 12, 13 and a base-plate (2) (Figs. 2, 4 not shown) is then pivoted about hinges 18 by means of pneumatic cylinder 16 so that the end plates 12, 13 and the sheets 11 are vertically supported. The lifting member, in the form of a transverse bar 3, is reciprocated longitudinally on a trolley 4 mounted on longitudinal guide rods (9) by means of a screw spindle 8 driven by motor 20. A flexible band 10 may be fixed to the frame 1 and act between the lifting member 3 and the sheets 11, the sheets falling back on to the band under their own weight when the lifting member has passed underneath. The trolley 4 may be carried on vertical bolts (5) which reciprocate under the action of an eccentric (6) on a shaft (23) driven by motor 7, (Fig. 4, not shown) to impart a vibratory motion to the member 3 and hence to the sheets. Further loosening and aeration of the sheets is accomplished by directing an air-blast 21 at the top edges of the sheets, the nozzle moving synchronously with the trolley 4 and the lifting member 3. The lifting member and the flexible bands may be in several parallel pieces.
