Composite material is made from foam plastic which is sandwiched between plastics paper, metal, wood or textiles. The composite is made in a heated mould in which the granular plastic used is allowed to expand and to adhere to other components. The mould can be lined with PTFE for easier parting. The composite material is used in building for furniture and motor car interiors.
