<p>The bleaching agents, for paper and textiles, have the formula: where R = opt. substd. aryl, Y = SO2, R1 = H, alkyl with 20C, opt. substd. phenyl or aralkyl, R2 = alkyl, cycloalkyl, opt. subst. aryl or styryl. Pref., R=phenyl or p-chloro-phenyl. The I are made by reaction of 1-(4'-vinylsulphonylphenyl) -3-aryl DELTA 2-pyrazolines (cf US 3255203) or 1-4'-(beta-aminoethylsulphonyl)phenyl -3-aryl-DELTA 2-pyrazolines with sulphonamides and sulphonyl chloride respectively, by reacting cpds. (I) where R1=H, with an alkylating agent, or condensing a w -chloropropiophenone with a phenylhydrazine carrying a grp. -SO2CH2CH2- -Y-R2 in the p-position. (I) are esp. useful as optical bleaches for paper and textiles fibres eg of cotton, polyacrylonitrile, cellulose 2 1/2 and 3-acetate, polyamides and wool.</p> |
