A disconnectable low-voltage circuit breaker is equipped with a pretripping device comprising a fixed cam (29) integral with the base, which co-operates with a tumbler (31) and a transmission lever (30) when connecting and disconnecting the circuit breaker. The profile of the fixed cam (29) is chosen so as to actuate the transmission lever and enforce tripping of the circuit breaker, over a portion of the connection or disconnection stroke, whilst the transmission lever (30) is in the inactive position, in the connected and disconnected position of the circuit breaker, in which positions it may be opened and closed normally. <IMAGE>
