PURPOSE:To elevate a working eficiency of the circuit, by making it possible to change the number of component bits of a character when a text is being transmitted or received, in case of the start-stop system communication control procedures. CONSTITUTION:A text from CPU is stored in the data buffer part 1 at a time and then transferred to the character assembling and disassembling part 3 character by character through the decoder 4. The decoder 4 detects a control byte which is contained in th text and selects the bit length of a character following it, and controls a flip flop 5 for controlling the number of bits. The bit control part 6 controls the number of component bits of a character in the assembling and disassembling part 3 depending upon the status of the flip-flop 5. As for the character from the assembling and disassembling part 2, a start bit and a stop bit are added before and after it, respectively, and it is transmitted to the circuit from the circuit corresponding part 2. The operation at the time of receiving is carried out by reversing the preceding steps on the whole. |
