In a method for reconditioning a tarpauling, the tarpaulin (17) is rolled up on a rotatable roller (14), to subsequently be unrolled therefrom down into a washing-detergent container (1), and is rolled up on the roller (14) once again, to be finally unrolled therefrom and conveyed to a collecting point. This method is characterised in that a washing-detergent solution is sprayed onto the tarpaulin (17) upstream from the roller (14) as the tarpaulin is being rolled up on the roller (14) the first time, and that the conveyance of the unrolled, clean and dry tarpaulin is performed with the aid of an air curtain directed towards it. A device for reconditioning a tarpaulin comprises a rotatable roller (14), a washing-detergent container (1) being provided beneath the roller (14), such that the unrolled tarpaulin can be introduced into the container, and the roller (14) being adapted to roll up the washed tarpaulin and then unroll the dry tarpaulin to be guided towards the exit side of the device. Further, the device is characterised by an array (20) of nozzles arranged upstream form the roller (14) for spraying a washing-detergent solution onto the tarpaulin as it is being rolled up on the roller (14), and an air-blowing means (23) arranged to direct an air curtain towards the tarpaulin so as to convey it to the exit side. |
