PURPOSE:To facilitate mounting work by forming a movable tubular unit of rubber material, providing further fold grooves, and deforming a central part swollen into a mountain shape of triangular section to the outside by compression in a lengthwise direction, so as to bring a ridge part of the mountain shape and its skirt parts into pressure contact respectively with a socket port surface and a plug-in port surface, in a sheathing system packing for coupling of a pipe. CONSTITUTION:A movable tubular unit 1 is formed of synthetic rubber of styrene butadiene rubber or the like, to provide circumferential directional fold grooves 3 to 5 in internal/external peripheral surfaces of this unit 1. Thus when compressed in the lengthwise direction, the unit 1 is folded in a part of the fold groove 3, to swell a central part into a mountain shape 2 of triangular section to the outside, and skirt parts 7, 8 are formed to be folded by the fold grooves 4, 5. On the other hand, a receiving port is formed into a squared section where a proportion x:l=6:4 is provided in a space l, formed by a thickness (x) and the mountain part 2 of the tubular unit 1 of a packing P. A ridge part 6 of the mountain part 2 is press-attached to a face of the socket port, and the skirt parts 7, 8 are press-attached to a surface of a plug-in port. |
