PURPOSE:To provide thermal crowning weasures for a rolling roll not capable of direct water cooling. CONSTITUTION:In a production apparatus of composite metal sheet by electric heating, the deterioration of sheet shape such as not uniform joining on width direction and center buckling due to the thermal crowning of rolling roll occurs. The problem of the detrioration is solved by a press joining roll made of sintered ceramics. Because of the use of direct electric heating for passing sheet and being unable to direct water spray cooling like hot rolling, the use of the clad roll made of sintered ceramics, having a thermal expansion coefficient smaller than a metal, is indispensable. The structure of the roll can be either one holding ceramic sleeve 41 fitted in the metal shaft 40 or the other of the roll itself made of hollow ceramics. |
