CARD AND EMBOSSED CHARACTER FORMING METHOD

PURPOSE:To correct a recessed part generated by emboss processing and to effectively utilize the card surface having the recessed part for other purpose by forming an embossed character forming plate from a shape memory material. CONSTITUTION:A card 1 is obtained by forming an emboss processing layer 3 composed of a shape memory resin or alloy and storing a plate shape on the entire surface of a card or a part thereof and the emboss processing layer 3 is fitted in the recessed part 10 of the card 1 so as to become flush with the surface of the card. Data such as a character or a figure is formed to the predetermined place of the emboss processing layer 3 by emboss processing and at least the emboss processing place is heat-treated to return the emboss processing layer 3 to a plate shape to form an embossed character.
