PURPOSE:To obtain the subject feather material having flame-proof characteristics resistant to washing, etc., exhibiting excellent durability, safety to living organism and bulkiness and useful for bedding, etc., by immersing feather in an aqueous solution of a water-soluble tin compound, drying the feather and neutralizing the product. CONSTITUTION:Feather is immersed in an aqueous solution produced by dissolving 5-60 pts.wt. of a water-soluble tin compound such as tin chloride in 100 pts.wt. of water. The treated feather is dried at 60-130 deg.C and neutralized to obtain the objective feather material containing 5-30 pts.wt. of tin oxide based on 100 pts.wt. of feather. |
