PURPOSE:To obtain uniform transfer image by a method wherein heat transfer receiving medium is delivered and held to a holding portion and heat transfer giving medium is delivered and similarly held to the holding portion so as to bring both the media into close contact with each other under the above- mentioned condition in order to write image information to the media with an optical writing means. CONSTITUTION:Heat transfer receiving medium 4 is delivered from a supplying means 6 and conveyed to the predetermined position of a cylindrical drum 7. Next, after a pressure roll 1 is pushed against the cylindrical drum 7, the cylindrical drum 7 is evacuated and, at the same time, turned so as o hold the receiving medium 4 on the cylindrical drum 7. Next, heat transfer giving media 3 consisting of yellow-, magenta-, cyan- and black-giving media (3-1)-(3-4) are delivered from supplying means and conveyed to the predetermined positions of the cylindrical drum 7 so as to be held with the pressure roll 1 in order to bring both the media 4 and 3 into close contact with each other. Then, writing is performed with an optical writing means 8 while the cylindrical drum 7 is being rotated. After that, the giving media 3 are separated from the receiving medium. |
