[Also in Division E1] An earth scraper comprises a forwardlyopening bowl, an endless conveyer arranged on the forward end of the bowl with chains 23 adjacent the side walls of the bowl and interjoined by flight elements 25, and radially extending arms 46 to remove stones or mud &c. from the conveyer and mounted on a shaft 34 extending between, and connected by flanges to, sprockets for the chains on the upper end of the bowl. The arms are arranged to protrude through the conveyer between adjacent flights as the flights move around the sprockets. Each arm may have an outer portion 48 rearwardly inclined to the radial portion of the arm with respect to the direction of rotation of the shaft. To the outside of each sprocket a flange of a journal shaft is connected. One of the journal shafts is driven.</p> |
