PURPOSE:To obtain a sealed lead storage battery with good heat resistance by using epoxy resin with the specific glass transition temperature at the sealing port around terminals guided from a battery jar cover and setting the operating pressure of a safety valve opened by the rise of the pressure in the battery to the specific value. CONSTITUTION:Epoxy resin with the glass transition temperature of 80 deg.C or higher is used at the sealing port around terminals guided from a battery jar cover. The operating pressure of a safety valve opened by the rise of the pressure in a battery is set within a range of 10-100mmHg. The linear expansion coefficient of epoxy resin is thereby made nearly the same as that of lead also at the high temperature side, and the peeling off between the terminals and epoxy resin can be prevented. Since the operating pressure of the safety valve is made low, even if the inner pressure rises by the thermal expansion of the air in the battery, it is discharged and the deformation of a battery jar at a high temperature can be prevented. |
