<p>PURPOSE:To uniformize an elongation rate in the breadthwise direction of tape and to prevent the decrease of output of a head by forming a specified upper taper surface on the upper side of magnetic heads on the outer periphery of a rotary drum. CONSTITUTION:The upper taper surface 10, the diameters of which are gradually made smaller as they go upward in the position, is formed on the upper side of plural magnetic heads on the outer periphery of the rotary drum 2. By the formation of this taper surface 10, a tape winding length against the rotary drum 2 of an upper edge 5a of the magnetic tape 5 running with being helically wound while laying across between the rotary drum 2 and fixed drum 4 and a tape winding length against the fixed drum 4 of a lower edge 5b are balanced. By this arrangement, the elongation rate in the breadthwise direction of magnetic tape 5 is uniformized, therefore, the touching state of the magnetic heads 1 against the magnetic tape 5 from a drum entrance 6 through a drum exit 7 is stabilized, and the decrease of the head output is prevented.</p> |
